Bretch, in contrast to such poets of nature as John Keats, Percy Bishe Shelley, William Blake and William Wordsworth, portrays nature as a soulless, pitiless, and heartless existence with no sympathy for man. An excellent example would be Japan, that great industrial economy of the Far East so beloved of profound earthquakes. Nature merely shakes her shoulders and some of the best roads in the world and other state of the art infrastructure fall into pieces.

If we do have in mind the picture of an educated person, what then are those traits by which we can recognize him and say with certainty that this indeed is he that is truly well educated?We are creating a society of monsters who will use their specialized knowledge to prey on the innocent, therefore paving their way to prestige with blood and suffering of others.

It is disturbing to look around the world and find that no African leader has developed any considerable interest in the killings in the Darfur region of the Sudan. Or that it is no more than two African presidents who have raised strong and open objections to the Zimbabwean election crisis. All this time, ironically, western powers are frantically doing their utmost best to stop Africans from butchering themselves.Do African leaders, or all Africans for that matter, posses the capacity for self-actualization? Are Africans able to go beyond themselves and see that which is really important in life, or are we limited in this too?
